TCSC is administered by Tampere University of Technology (TUT). Its objective is to provide support, computational resources and scientific software for researchers at TUT and its partner universities (University of Jyväskylä and University of Tampere). Nationally TCSC is the local contact point for computational sciencists, facilitating their access to using the resources of CSC - IT Center for Science Ltd administered by the Ministry of Education. CSC provides Finland's most powerful supercomputing environment that is complemented by scientific support through computational experts whose fields cover a large number of disciplines. At TUT, scientific computing covers about 1/3 of the scientific productivity of the university, highlighting the ever increasing role of computational sciences.
